Everything We Love The Musical
'We live in a time of measured breaths, where bees disappear, where forests fall like curtains, And the sky is bought and sold like it was never ours to begin with'

Everything We Love is a musical authored by Lisa Jane Grindle between 2020 to 2026.
The musical evolved one Sunday morning whilst Lisa was sitting in bed with a cuppa.
Looking out the window, Lisa noticed the street was awash with smoke from domestic wood burners.
The air was still and putrid and hazy and Lisa thought about the health implications as she listened to people outside coughing.
Lisa began singing a song - 'We live on woodsmoke row…'
Lisa proceeded to compose another 7 songs on the same morning jotting down and capturing verses and ideas by singing into the phone recorder.
In 2025, Lisa completed the full length manuscript and the musical now has 15 accompanying songs and encompasses the following themes:
-
People appear to lose touch with the simple, beautiful things like the restorative effects of clean air, a natural environment, the bush fragrance, the smell of cut grass or sea salt in the air.
-
To reach heights of massive control and wealth accumulation, people often have to shut off their empathy - they ignore the living lungs and wildlife of the forests; they often choose to ignore vulnerability.
-
It is a profound tragedy that the more someone - billionaires, corporations etc seek to own the planet, the less they are actually able to feel it.
-
If people confront the uncomfortable truth of others struggling, or let the beauty of the forest in they wouldn’t be able to make the cold and often cruel and short sighted decisions they do.
-
The musical explores the theme of environmental stewardship vs corporate greed.
-
The illusion of mortality. By building empires and leaving a name people try and outrun their own mortality. They think if they control enough of the earth and the planet, they can't be hurt by it but they are only selling off their future. By valuing the heart of a living tree, this musical is an antidote to that mindset.
-
Time waits for no-one but legacy and compromise remains.
Lisa's aim is to have the musical performed to generate funds for wildlife organisations and protectors of nature.
